Q: Are your tours safe for people with diagnosed celiac disease?

Yes. Every tour is designed for diagnosed celiac (coeliac) travellers. Restaurants are personally vetted by our founder, who has celiac disease himself. A licensed local host attends every group meal to communicate protocols directly with the kitchen in the local language. Reservations are pre-arranged, dietary cards are professionally translated, and hotels are notified in writing before arrival. That said - no third-party kitchen is ever a zero-risk environment. We remove the research burden but final judgement always sits with the traveller.

Q: Do you cater to gluten intolerance and non-celiac gluten sensitivity as well?

Yes. Our tours are built around celiac-level rigour, which means gluten intolerant and non-celiac gluten sensitive travellers are equally well served. Most travellers describe some form of gluten-related dietary requirement - celiac disease, gluten intolerance, non-celiac gluten sensitivity, or wheat allergy.

Q: How is a celiac-safe Japan tour possible when soy sauce contains wheat?

Every restaurant on tour uses gluten-free tamari or specifically produced wheat-free soy sauce, verified in advance by our host. Our restaurant list took months to build. Traditional Japanese cuisines with naturally low gluten risk (sushi, sashimi, yakitori without tare, shabu-shabu with rice noodles) are prioritised, and dedicated gluten-free establishments are included where they exist.

Q: What is Coeliaco Italia certification?

Coeliaco Italia (AIC) is the world's most rigorous celiac restaurant certification programme. Certified restaurants must have dedicated cookware, a separated prep area, and staff who have completed formal cross-contamination training. Over 4,000 Italian restaurants hold the certification. Every dinner on our Italy tour is at a Coeliaco Italia-certified establishment.

Q: Can non-celiac partners come along?

Yes. Around 30% of our travellers bring a partner or friend who does not have celiac disease. Everyone eats at the same restaurants, but a non-celiac traveller is free to order gluten-containing items where they are on the menu.
